For our last Rest Stop retreat for 2025, we will be listening to a word. For several years, the use of star words, also called “star gifts,”has become a prayer practice connected to Epiphany and the new year. The idea is that a list of intention words, or guiding words, are written or printed on special paper and are arranged face down in a basket. I will pick two words that will be included in your packet. Pick one. If you absolutely can’t see the first word you picked working for you, you may use the other, but you are encouraged to use one of the words to help you become more aware of the presence of the sacred in and around you. This retreat will invite you to work on some practices that will help you listen and be guided by your word.

After the retreat, place your star word somewhere you will regularly see it throughout the year to allow consistent reflection on how Spirit is moving through, around, or in connection to that word.
